The 6th verse of the 23rd Psalm holds a promise:
“‘Surely‘ goodness and mercy ‘shall‘ follow me ‘all’ the days of my life: and I ‘will’ dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
How could David make such a claim? He did not know what he himself would do in any given moment after he uttered those words, yet he also uttered these words:
“Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, LORD.“ Psalm 139:4
He did not say “some” word or words. He said “a” word… “any” word…”every” word (both good words and bad words)

The All-Knowing, Ever-Present God
For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.
1 LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up;
You understand my thoughts from far away.
3 You observe my travels and my rest;
You are aware of all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue,
You know all about it, LORD.
5 You have encircled me;
You have placed Your hand on me.
6 [This] extraordinary knowledge is beyond me.
It is lofty; I am unable to [reach] it.
7 Where can I go to escape Your Spirit?
Where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I go up to heaven, You are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there.
9 If I live at…

5I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. Psalm 118:5 KJV
1Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.3For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down…

“Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” Psalm 56:8 KJV
Yesterday I asked a friend if she supposed that if the Lord were to spill all of those bottles that belong to all of His children that it would rain 40 days and 40 nights again. Then I paused and pondered these words:
“Rain, rain, You were pouring rain
I wonder, Lord, were they tears of pain”

5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.2 Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man[a] when they were created.3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. 4 The days of Adam after…

Hello! If you all know me you also know that I have two blogs…this one and Serenaded Softly (http://serenadedinseconds.wordpress.com/category/a-about-serenaded-softly/). I sometimes repost old posts, and I also sometimes reblog from one blog to the other. Over time my blogs have become cluttered and are becoming a little difficult to navigate. Over the next few days you might see a lot of reposting going on at both blogs. I just want to explain that I am doing some spring cleaning in hopes of making my blogs easier to navigate.
