Your Love Came Over Me

Scripture references;

37 On the last and most important day of the festival,  Jesus stood up and cried out,“If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink!  38 The one who believes in Me,  as the Scripture  has said, will have streams of living water  flow  from deep within him.” 39 He said this about the Spirit,  whom those who believed in Him were going to receive,  for the Spirit had not yet been received,  because Jesus had not yet been glorified. John 7:37-39 HCSB

Recently the Lord has used some lady bloggers to encourage and inspire me. I recently had a touching experience, and they had a part in it and I am just now writing about it. I believe it all started when I was at Debbie’s blog and read this:  http://iftodaywehear.wordpress.com/2010/12/14/made-well/,  and then I wrote an entry at my blog and they both made comments that sparked my memory. Here are the comments they made:

First Debbie said “Theresa, some mornings I feel His presence in waves, washing over me. I never want to get up or have it end! I have no idea why He blesses me like this.”

Then Ann said “I long for the days when I would spend so much time in His presence just sitting there soaking and allowing His love to wash over me.”  Here is a link to one of my favorite posts at her blog:  http://tonirand.wordpress.com/2010/08/02/inconvenient-blessings/ If you would like to read my blog entry and their entire comments you can click here:  https://pronetoponder.wordpress.com/2010/12/15/i-know-who-holds-tomorrow/#comments

There was a time that began when I was in my teens where I really enjoyed listening to Contemporary Christian Music. This would have been in the 80’s. Then somewhere around my mid or late twenties I had some things happen that caused me to go in a direction… I took a break from listening to that particular style of music and explored Southern Gospel a little and then became very interested in hymns. If I were asked who my favorite Contemporary Christian artists or groups were over the past 15 or 20 years I’m afraid I would only be able to name a  few. Thats okay, though, because I can go to youtube and play catch up from time to time.

The comments that these two ladies made touched me in such a special way. They reminded me of a song by a couple of artists that I used to just love to listen to. One was Keith Green and the other was Matthew Ward and the 2nd Chapter of Acts. Below are both the words and a couple links so you can listen. As I listened I was taken back to a time when I was very young and everything was still so new. Can you remember when it was still new? We all need to go back and revisit our “bethels”, and allow the Lord to refresh us!

Your Love Came Over Me by Keith Green

Like a landslide your love came over me

And like an earthquake you you knocked me off my feet

And all at once I knew there was no turning back for me

And now I can see what you mean to me

Like a good book I just can’t put you down

And like a gold mine I’ve been digging what I found

Cause my whole life was leading to the day you came around

The day that I found, you turned me around

The day your love came over me

The day your love came over me

Where was I to go but deeper inside the love that you’d been showing me

When all the doors were closed, your arms opened wide

and now I know that you’re the way, the place I should be

I won’t forget the day that your love came over me

Like an avalanche your love came over me

And like a tidal wave you swept me out to sea

And all at once I knew there’d be no turning back for me

And now I can see what you mean to me

The day your love came over me

The day your love came over me

Where was I to go but deeper inside the love that you’d been showing me

When all the doors were closed, your arms opened wide

And now I know that you’re the way, the place I should be

I won’t forget the day that your love came over me

The day your love came over me

The day your love came over me

The day your love came over me…
